Painters Threads Metallics Twist consists of 18 fine metallic strands twisted together and then hand dyed in the signature Painters Threads colourways. The thread can be used as a complete twist for a bold metallic effect, or easily separated and combined with other embroidery threads to add a subtle touch of shimmer.
This metallic thread is also used by Beth Upstill, author of Garden of Emboidered Bugs, to give embroidered insect wings a subtle shimmer and added dimension.

Each skein is individually hand dyed using an exclusive dyeing technique. As a result, every thread is unique, with subtle variations in colour and shading between dye lots. These gentle colour transitions give embroidery a natural, vibrant appearance and make every project truly one of a kind. All 40 colours in the collection are designed to harmonise beautifully with one another.
Please note that colours displayed on your screen may differ slightly from the actual product. Because every skein is hand dyed, small colour variations are a natural part of the process and contribute to the unique character of each thread.

Material: 65% Cupro / 35% Polyester
TIP: Always choose a needle that is slightly larger than you would normally use. This helps protect the delicate thread while stitching. For the best results, work with a thread length of no more than 30 cm.
